Staff step up at Dyke Yaxley

Two senior staff have been promoted to new roles at a Shropshire accountancy firm.

Pam Mason was previously tax manager at Dyke Yaxley Chartered Accountants, in Shrewsbury, and she has now been appointed as tax planning consultant.

In her new role, she will work with larger corporate clients on strategic tax planning, corporate advice, remuneration planning, business succession, and HM Revenue and Customs inquiries.

Pam has worked in accountancy for over 25 years and has a wealth of experience after working with firms of chartered accountants in Shrewsbury and Telford.

"My role is to make sure our corporate clients get the best advice and to review the advice regularly in the ever-changing world of tax legislation, so that they can be as tax efficient as possible."

Pam's move means Martyn Bramwell will now step up to take on the extra responsibility of managing the Dyke Yaxley tax department.

He has run the firm's small business department for the last five years, and will continue in that role alongside his new position.

Martyn will oversee the team of tax experts at Dyke Yaxley who work with a large portfolio of clients on preparing personal tax returns, managing HM Revenue and Customs investigations, and providing tax planning advice.

He joined the firm straight from university and specialises in working with small businesses and advising on taxation issues in the property sector.

"In today's challenging marketplace, accountancy is no longer just about book-keeping, and we need to be proactive business partners with our clients to make sure we get the best results for them." said Martyn.

"A combination of effective tax planning, giving sound advice and making sure we constantly audit our clients' individual circumstances is essential if we are to make a difference."
