Kicking off a new era

A Shropshire accountancy firm has expanded its business by opening a brand new office in Telford.

Dyke Yaxley Chartered Accountants celebrated its new branch with an official opening ceremony with guest of honour Howard Wilkinson – the former England league-winning manager.

The new office in Hollinswood Court, on Stafford Park, is the company’s second premises – their headquarters are in Old Potts Way in Shrewsbury.

Managing director, Laurie Riley, said: “The opening was a very special and proud occasion for us all at Dyke Yaxley and marked a momentous day in our company’s history.  The new branch will give us the opportunity to expand our presence in the Telford area and we’ve been delighted with the response so far from clients and other local business professionals across the area.”

Howard Wilkinson agreed to perfom the opening as a direct result of Dyke Yaxley’s close working relationship with the League Managers’ Association, as he is the organisation’s Chairman.

He was joined at the event by John Duncan, the LMA’s technical manager and former player, and Shrewsbury Town Football Club manager, Graham Turner.

“We were very pleased that our special guests agreed to take part in a question and answer session with our guests, and that they shared their thoughts on the similarities of football management skills and the skills it takes to manage a successful business.  We have worked extremely closely with the LMA for many years, and we’re very grateful that such high profile guests agreed to attend our celebration.”

The Telford office will be home to Ian Walsh and his team who joined Dyke Yaxley from RSM Tenon.

Ian said: “We’ve had a whirlwind eight months since we began talks with the directors about joining forces and the team at Dyke Yaxley have pulled out all the stops to welcome us and our clients on board, not least finding us a great new home at Hollinswood Court.

“Dyke Yaxley is one of the county’s most established and respected businesses which is renowned for putting its clients first and delivering high standard customer service.  We’re very proud to be part of the team, and we’ll be working hard to establish the Dyke Yaxley name in Telford.”
