Professional background:

Michael began his accountancy career as a Trainee Accountant in 1976 with a firm based in Leeds and later qualified in 1980. In 1987, Michael set up his own firm in Aylesbury and the following year was invited to open the Moore Stephens Shrewsbury branch where he became owner in 2000.

Michael joined Dyke Yaxley in 2003 as a part-time consultant, and after a few years was taken on, on a full-time basis in the Corporate Department as Client Manager.

In May 2015, Michael eased back to part-time, working 4 days a week. Michael particuarly enjoys the face-to-face meetings he has with clients and also the interaction with his colleagues.

Responsibilities:

Michael’s daily responsibilities include: Managing a client portfolio and liaising with clients on a regular basis and advising them on business matters.

Michael is also responsible in planning corporate jobs, guiding and assisting trainees, corporate accounts and tax reviews.

Michael outside of work

Michael’s favourite hobbies include: Modern sequence dancing which he attends 3 nights a week, countryside cycling and rambling and visiting art galleries.

Michael’s biggest inspiration is Peter Forrester, his mentor for 20 years.

Michael’s favourite holiday destination is Switzerland.

If Michael wasn’t working at Dyke Yaxley, he’d enjoy working as a Travel Writer.

Michael’s greatest achievement is owning his own business.
