Payroll / Accounting Solutions Assistant


We have a vacancy for the above position to work flexibly between our Payroll Bureau Team and Accounting Solutions Department, as part of our value added services to our clients.  

Based in our Shrewsbury office you will be responsible for administering a number of payrolls and completing book-keeping and VAT support to our clients.

Candidate Profile:

    • Minimum of three years working in a similar accountancy practice environment
    • Demonstrated capability of providing book-keeping and payroll support to a variety of clients
    • Lives within easy travel distance of Shrewsbury office
    • Knowledge of Bright Pay or SAGE Payroll
    • Worked with QuickBooks/Xero/Sage or other Accountancy Software Packages
    • Understands VAT processes and Monthly Management Reports
    • Well organised and can prioritise activities
    • Ability to meet weekly and monthly deadlines
    • First class standard of customer care
    • Good communication skills in order to work with and relate to clients
    • Own car and full clean licence

The Role:

    • Responsible for delivering Payroll Services to a range of clients
    • Liaising with clients to answer their queries and payroll related enquiries
    • Be familiar with furlough procedures, holiday calculations, maternity and parental leave
    • Provide range of weekly/monthly book-keeping/VAT services to allocated clients
    • Complete work within a timely and efficient manner, against weekly and monthly deadlines
    • Present work to the highest of standards
    • Ensure skills and knowledge are maintained in order to offer the highest standard of service to our clients
