Amy starts a new career

Oct 18, 2017 | Uncategorized

Welcome to Amy Bradbury who has joined the Dyke Yaxley Team at our Telford Office, and it’s her first job after graduating from the University of Wolverhampton.

She had previously worked in banking for nearly 10 years before being made redundant, and decided to move away from the banking sector due to concerns about the stability of the economy.

“I wanted to find a career in finance but not necessarily go back into banking, so I decided to apply to study for a Degree in Accounting and Finance instead,” said Amy, who lives in Perton near Wolverhampton.

“I have now graduated with a first-class honours degree, and I’m very pleased to be working with Dyke Yaxley.  They actually offered me a job before I had finished my final year, so I started initially part-time and then joined the Company full-time once I had finished university.

“To begin with, I am training on accounts preparation and auditing, and will soon be doing my professional chartered exams with the support of my colleagues in the firm.

“My ambition is to become a Chartered Accountant and progress through the accounting profession.”

Dyke Yaxley’s Managing Director, Laurie Riley, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Amy to Dyke Yaxley and we’re sure she will find her first steps on the accountancy career ladder exciting and challenging.

“It’s a great opportunity for her to contine her training surrounded by experienced and knowledgeable colleagues who are all very happy to help her along with her new career.”

As well as graduating with a first-class honours degree, Amy was also awarded The University of Wolverhampton Business School Prize for the student with the best academic performance following a return to Higher Education, and The Zuri Inspirational Student Prize which is awarded to a studen who has overcome a challenge and succeeded in the face of adversity.

She was presented with both awards during her degree ceremony at The Grand Theatre, in Wolverhampton.
