Changes to your NEST and TPP pensions filing process

Sep 17, 2018 | Uncategorized

Xero’s current pension filing functionality is being discontinued in favour of building direct integrations with the UK’s largest pension providers. This means that from 3 October the way you file will change for NEST and TPP. There will also be a change for any of our clients who use Aviva and who joined the Xero beta test. Instructions on what to do can be found below.

Whilst we appreciate that change isn’t always easy, we believe that in the long term, building deeper integrations with the largest pension providers in the UK will provide more insights, faster development of new features, and stability of service for our Partners and their clients.

NEST clients
The good news is that Xero have already built their integration to NEST. From 17 September you’ll get an in-app notification to prompt you to add Xero as a delegate in NEST. This allows Xero to migrate your connection on 3 October on your behalf so you don’t have to worry. Simply go to the NEST website and add Xero as a delegate by following these instructions.

If you don’t add Xero as a delegate by 3 October, you can still file but you will need to set up your connection again through the Workplace Pensions Page in the Xero app. Xero have set up a webinar to help you through the process on NEST.

TPP & Aviva clients
As Xero are still working on their direct integrations with TPP and Aviva, from 3 October our TPP clients or any Aviva clients who joined Xero’s beta test will need to temporarily manually submit files by following these instructions. Xero are currently working on their TPP integration and hope to have that live by the end of the Financial Year. Xero will provide more information for our Aviva clients in due course.
