Professional background:

Mel joined Dyke Yaxley in May 2017 after previously working as a Group Administrations and Marketing Manager at a local healthcare agency. Before that Mel worked as a Web Developer/Designer while she studied her Business and Administration NVQ.

Mel has previously taken on a range of work experience and volunteer jobs at places such as the Job Centre in Shrewsbury and creating graphics and running social media accounts for local businesses.

Responsibilities:

Mel’s responsibilities as Marketing Assistant include working closely with the Marketing Co-Ordinator and the Directors and Managers across all departments of the Company to ensure clients are kept up-to-date with the latest accountancy developments through Dyke Yaxley's social media platforms, newsletters (physical and digital), mail-outs, press releases etc.

She is also responsible for the artwork/graphics used within the company and spends a lot of her day designing and creating these. She is also responsible for all Dyke Yaxley's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter) and also tends to the update of the Company's website.

Mel also helps to organise and susequently attends events on a regular basis and also frequently attends expos and networking events with her team. She also helps to build and maintain a multitude of databases including a diverse marketing database.

When needed, Mel helps with database admin and administration work also.

Mel outside of work

Mel’s favourite hobbies include spending time with her daughters Peyton and Frankie, husband Darren and family and friends, walking her dog Jimmy and watching Netflix!

Mel’s favourite holiday destinations are Riviera Maya, Mexico (where she went on her honeymoon) and Rome.
 
If Mel wasn’t working at Dyke Yaxley, she’d enjoy working as a midwife or an architect.
 
Mel's biggest inspirations are her parents, she says that they shown her what hard work and determination really means and she is so proud of them.
 
Mel's favourite film is Stepbrothers.
 
Mel's lifetime ambition is to make her daughters and family proud of her.
 
If Mel wasn't working at Dyke Yaxley, she'd like to go back to college to finish her Art qualifications and become an Architect.
