Staff at a Shropshire accountancy firm have welcomed a new Management Accountant to their team.

Amy Watson, from Shrewsbury, has joined the Corporate Department at Dyke Yaxley Chartered Accountants, in Old Potts Way, and has previously worked for several other local companies.

Managing Director, Laurie Riley, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Amy and she brings with her a wealth of experience that we’re sure will make her a great addition to our team.

“Our business is growing continuously and it’s wonderful to be able to take on new staff to help us develop our services still further, particularly in such tough economic times.

“Amy studied for her qualifications in Shrewsbury too, so her appointment is a real local success story.”

Amy is a member of CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) and CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountants), and has worked for Salop Leisure, the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, and Citizens Advice Shropshire.

She said: “Working for such a well-known firm as Dyke Yaxley is an excellent opportunity for me, and everyone has made me feel very welcome in a short space of time.

“I’m really looking forward to learning more from my highly-experienced colleagues, and developing my own skills with the benefit of their expertise and knowledge.”

Dyke Yaxley has a team of 80 staff, including 10 directors, and has a client base of more than 3,500.

The company is committed to encouraging every member of staff to take part in its in-house training and development programme to realise their ambitions within the business.
