A Shropshire tax expert is “going live” as part of a high-tech seminar during the Government’s next Budget announcement.

Dyke Yaxley’s Senior Tax Planner, Tony Elliott, will be part of a lively panel of specialists on Wednesday, March 18, at the special event held at Wolverhampton Business Solutions Centre.

Organised in conjunction with the Black Country Growth Hub, the seminar will give companies the opportunity to watch the Chancellor’s statement “live”.

It will take place in the state-of-the-art Innovation 1st Visualisation Centre, and will be followed by lunch and a live panel discussion to discuss the measures just after they have been announced.

“My role in the question and answer session will be to reflect on the topical tax issues as they crop up, and I’ll be joining local economists to debate the statement and how it affects local businesses,” said Tony.

“It’s a great opportunity to share my knowledge and to discuss how the announcements will reach out across the wider West Midlands.

“I took part in a similar event last year which was a huge success, and organisers have said places in the audience have already been snapped up extremely quickly.”

Tony will be joined on the panel by economist Paul Forrest from the West Midlands Economic Forum, and Dr Stuart Farquhar from the University of Wolverhampton Business School.

“Given that this will be Chancellor George Osborne’s last Budget of this Parliament, and that it comes less than two months before the Election, it’s sure to be a lively session and I’m looking forward to hearing just what he has up his sleeve,” said Tony.
